    Mary Jane's Revies on Rickman in Collins:

    He's President of the Irish Republic, Michael Collins' "chief." De Valera he's called, which doesn't really sound very Irish to me, but anyway, he and Collins are always disagreeing about the best course/tactics for the Republic, but they get along pretty well overall against the English. Until de Valera sends him to England in his stead to negotiate what he knows will be a compromising treaty, and then Collins catches on and it's all downhill from there. Though the Irish people accept the treaty by popular vote de Valera and Co. refuse to accept it and break off, while Collins and Co. implement and enforce the elected treaty. So then it's Irish vs. Irish, and in the end Collins is assasinated whilst traveling to meet with de Valera to see if they can't reunite somehow.

    Rickman himself speaks with an odd accent throughout, kind of nasal almost, and really he doesn't have too much screentime anyway (though he does clean up nice in a period suit) so enough about that one; of the three it's my least fav.
